Chameleon Business Interiors
Having moved into the building in 2008, our team of 25+ has flourished in this fifth-floor penthouse-style office overlooking the bustling Humber Street and Old Town area.
Keen to stay in such a vibrant part of Hull – one which we’ve come to call home – we wanted to breathe new life into our space and design something which was unmistakably Chameleon.

The Vision
We envisioned an inviting space that offered people a comfortable yet practical hybrid workspace. We realised that the shape and size of the office, flaunting floor-to-ceiling windows and a modern wrap-around balcony, lent itself to a more stylish layout with a natural feel.
Our vision was twofold: not only would it revitalise the office for our team, but the space would also act as a showroom for potential clients, demonstrating first-hand how we implement thoughtful design.

The Change
By carefully observing our team and how they go about their day-to-day, we quickly identified the changes that would have the most impact.
_Increased desk provision
_Additional four-person meeting room
_Additional ad-hoc meeting booth meeting
_Modernised kitchen facilities
_Larger storage room
_Larger samples library
_Additional easy-access storage
_Smart lockers
We incorporated all of these features in an organic layout which encourages flexible working and maximises the amount of natural light pouring into the space.
Our sustainable approach
Due to our location, perched next to the Humber Estuary, we knew it was key to integrate a heat recovery system and new efficient LED lighting on sensors. We also utilised remote-control blinds, which helped us regulate temperature and light levels, massively reducing our energy consumption.
Recycling & Renewables
_Carpet tiles & LVT (100% recycled nylon) were recycled, whilst the furniture was donated to local schools and charities.
_Worktop manufacturers ensure the use of 100% renewable electricity and 99% recycled water with zero discharge into rivers or seas.
_All furniture was sourced through UK manufacturers, including Senator, due to their use of recycled content in both their products and packaging.
_Our feature lighting is from UK-based company Tala (B-Corp), who deliver everything in 100% recyclable and plastic-free packaging.

The Achievement
The finished result has smashed all of our expectations, becoming a hub for all things Chameleon, whether it’s as collaborative as client meetings or as personal as team lunches.
The larger kitchen and break area, with a full-sized table and wall-mounted TV, has been in constant use with our team working, eating and relaxing together.
The open and more naturally lit floor plan has created a better connection between our team, making conversation easier and teamwork the norm.
