Manchester-based Workplace Specialist at Chameleon

This week, we caught up with Ryan to learn a little more about the faces behind the change.

Ryan is a workplace specialist at Chameleon and has been with us for about 3 months, so we thought now would be the perfect time for a catch-up.

Let’s get into it.

So, how long have you been in the industry?

This is my 13th year in construction & fit-out – 10 of those years were specifically in design & build.

What inspired you to pursue a career in this industry?

During my time studying at Salford University, I quickly realised there was an opportunity for me to be part of the growing infrastructure for the Country. To have the opportunity to help clients grow and build their companies has always been a key factor.

Why Chameleon? What attracted you to the business?

Chameleon stood out immediately as it’s built around an entrepreneurial mindset. I also saw a great opportunity to service clients not just in the UK, but globally.

What’s the biggest challenge in the industry at the moment?

I’d say the main issue is that the market is slow due to the economic climate, which, as a consequence, projects are taking longer for sign-off. The demand is there, but new builds are limited, so retrofitting existing space has become a more viable route.

Manchester’s glowing reputation is ever-growing – why do you think it’s one of the places to be right now?

Manchester is without doubt the UK’s second City. I’ve seen firsthand how the investments and developments over the last 10 years have taken the city to a new level. I’m incredibly excited to see what the next 10 years bring with the potential expansion from the city centre out towards Salford Quays.

What's something we don’t know about you?

I was part of the match-winning squad for the Challenge Cup Final against Leeds in 2010 at Wembley.
