The Business

Keigar Homes has spent over 30 years building a name for quality in North Lincolnshire  not through scale, but through consistency. Founded by brothers Garry and Keith Whall, the business has stayed independent and family-led since day one; Keith retired in 2010, and Garry has led the business ever since. It’s the kind of longevity that shows up in the details: repeat recognition through LABC and Master Builder Awards, long-standing relationships with buyers and suppliers, and a reputation built on attention to detail rather than volume.

Keigar approached us directly after seeing our previous experience working on showroom-based office projects, proof, if any were needed, that a well-executed space does more marketing than most campaigns ever will.

The Vision

The brief was less about square footage and more about translating a set of values into a physical space. Keigar wanted somewhere that felt welcoming, premium and approachable, the opposite of corporate, while still communicating the craftsmanship and trust that underpin the brand. Collaboration and a customer-first culture needed to be visible the moment someone walked through the door, both to visiting clients and to the team who work there every day.

That meant designing two experiences into one building. For customers, a destination that feels considered and personal from the first step inside,  somewhere that signals “we build homes people are proud to live in” before a single conversation happens. For the team, a workplace that gives them room to do their best work away from a desk, with proper breakout space rather than an afterthought corner with a kettle.

The Change

Rather than designing for efficiency alone, the team mapped the space around experience, specifically, the journey a prospective homebuyer takes from arrival to decision. That thinking runs through every touchpoint. The entrance opens onto what’s now called the Signature Suite: a lounge area anchored by a full-height living wall, warm brass pendant lighting and sculptural cream armchairs, with the space’s name picked out in illuminated script against the greenery. It’s the kind of first impression that tells a visitor exactly what kind of business they’re dealing with before anyone’s said a word.

From there, the flow moves into more practical territory without losing any of that warmth, a showroom showcasing the quality they can expect in their own home. Meeting spaces follow the same logic: a boardroom in deep navy with richly textured wallcovering, tan leather chairs and oversized felt pendant lighting feels considered rather than corporate, built for the kind of unhurried conversations house-buying decisions actually need.

Staff areas received the same care. A dedicated breakout zone uses curved, dusty-terracotta sofas around low tables, with open shelving displays. Beyond it, the working floor, spacious open-plan desking for the wider team, encouraging exactly the kind of everyday collaboration the brief called for, with the third floor hosting private offices for senior staff where confidentiality and focus still matter.

The standout piece, though, is the sample library in the design studio. We designed and manufactured a completely bespoke piece of high-end joinery in deep navy, spanning a full wall. It houses Keigar’s entire collection of finishes and materials,  timber, stone, tile arranged like a considered retail display rather than a stack of sample boards, with an integrated screen for walking customers through options digitally. The aim was to create a practical, organised space that reflects the same attention to detail Keigar builds into every home, and it’s given both clients and the internal team a genuinely inspiring space to explore and specify finishes in.

The Achievement

The result is a genuine first for Keigar Homes, their first ever dedicated showroom within head office, giving every customer a tailored, considered experience from the moment they arrive at the building, marked outside by Keigar’s own striking stone-and-brick entrance. Internally, the wider space now spans three floors, with collaboration built into the layout rather than bolted on afterwards: open-plan work areas in Keigar’s signature navy and timber palette sit alongside private offices and breakout zones, giving staff genuine choice in how and where they work.

Delivery matched the ambition: 10,000 operative hours on site without a single incident, and 95% of waste generated during the works recycled, numbers that speak to the same standard of care Keigar asks of its own build teams.
